I

If any of you know me, I love Hawaii. I’ve been cursed from before never to see sea turtles in the wild until now. The curse has either been broken or lifted!

I did an internet search for Turtle Town in Maui. It brought up a person’s blog which pointed out where it was located. My family and I went there to meet my son’s best friends family.

There were some turtles trying to feed off the kelp growning off the lava rocks nearby. I managed to walk there and crouched on the lava rocks fairly close. I only had my 24-70mm lens. On this trip, I didn’t bring my 70-200, but in the end since I was close, the telephoto lens wasn’t needed. One wave pushed one Honu onto the lava rocks and I managed to capture this image. I got lucky with the shot!

Enjoy!
